Subject: message from the actives at the Lodge

Dear Alumni,

After an exciting and eventful fall semester, the actives from Alpha Delta Delta would like to offer you our greetings for the Spring. The Lodge has been looking spectacular lately, with much of the credit going to Martin Smith, our new property manager. The brotherhood hired Mr. Smith to help us maintain the physical state of the Lodge, collect rent, and keep the fraternity running smoothly in general.

Be sure to come by the Lodge for these upcoming events. Both offer a great opportunity to see the impressive new state of the Lodge:

- Cal Men's Basketball vs. Washington State Saturday, March 5 at Haas Pavilion. Time is TBA (check http://calbears.com for time)

- Tickets can be purchased for $25 at http://calbears.collegesports.com/tickets/tickets-m-baskbl.html

-  Come by the Lodge before the game for BBQ and refreshments! Founder's Day Weekend. Sunday, May 1 we will be having drinks at the Lodge before going to the Bancroft Hotel for the banquet.  Typically the festivities start around 5 or 6pm., details to follow.  RSVP to me if you would like to reserve parking for Founder's Day. My phone number is (415) 388-3695, or you can reach me via email at mbechelli@berkeley.edu.

Make sure to mark both dates off on your calendar. Both events should be lots of fun. In other news, we just finished rush for the spring semester, and the class proved to be of quality, character, and integrity. The Lodgers have been as active as ever in the Cal as well as the Greek community. Jon Green, Delta Delta's #1, is still serving on the IFC's Judicial Committee after serving as the Chief Justice last semester. If you missed it, Cal won the Big Freeze hockey game against Stanford, no small part due to the efforts of our own Mike Thompson, a sophomore defenseman. Also, Bryan Thomas, a first year student who pledged last semester, is now a writer for the Daily Californian, our campus newspaper. We are all very proud of Bryan, who in two weeks on the job has had three stories make the front page.

Sophomore Alex Rosenberg just competed in Kappa Alpha Theta's philanthropy event, Mr. Casanova. The Lodgers came out in force to support Alex in this Male pageant of sorts. On a similar note, several Chi Psi's will be taking part in Pi Beta Phi's Arrow Bands lip-synching competition, entering this year as the defending champions.

A few of our prodigal sons have returned from abroad to their beloved Lodge. Rory Taggart '06 and Rory Padekin '06 have moved back in, while Hans Matthew Botz '05 and Ben Stewart '06 are currently living out. We are excited nonetheless to have them all back and participating in fraternity events.

We hope to see you all at the upcoming events! Call me for any details! YITB, Matt Bechelli DD '08
